Ethical Clearance
Research involving human participants submitted to Al-Musyrif: Jurnal Bimbingan dan Konseling Islam must comply with applicable research ethics standards. Where required, ethical clearance must be obtained from an authorized Research Ethics Committee or Institutional Review Board before the research is conducted.
Research involving human participants should ensure:
- Ethical approval where required;
- Protection of participants' rights, dignity, safety, and well-being;
- Voluntary and informed consent;
- Freedom from coercion or undue influence;
- The right to refuse or withdraw from participation;
- Protection of privacy, anonymity, and confidentiality;
- Appropriate protection of sensitive personal, psychological, or counselling data; and
- Additional safeguards for children, vulnerable groups, counselling clients, or other participants requiring special protection.
Exception
Formal ethical clearance may not be required for research involving low or negligible risk, subject to applicable institutional requirements. This may include literature reviews, research using publicly available information, fully anonymized secondary data, or anonymous research on non-sensitive topics that does not reasonably expose participants to harm. Where ethical clearance is not required, authors should provide a clear statement explaining the basis for the exemption. For research that has received ethical approval, authors should state the name of the approving ethics committee and ethical clearance number in the manuscript.
The journal reserves the right to request ethical clearance documents, informed consent documentation, or other relevant evidence when necessary. Any ethical concerns identified before or after publication will be handled in accordance with the journal's Publication Ethics and Malpractice Statement.
