Education-based da'wah is a strategic solution to systematically and sustainably ground the teachings of Islam. This study aims to explore the characteristics of educational da'wah carried out by Ustadz Nur Hidayat, a practitioner of Islamic education in Surabaya and Sidoarjo. The method used in this research is descriptive qualitative with a media text analysis approach. Primary data is obtained from Ustadz Nur Hidayat's book entitled Success Tips for Pioneering, Managing, and Developing Islamic Schools, while secondary data comes from his Instagram digital content. The analysis techniques used include content analysis and critical discourse analysis. The results showed that the educational da'wah developed by Ustadz Nur Hidayat emphasizes character building, internalization of Islamic values, and a humanist approach in the learning process. Da'wah is not only delivered through lectures, but also through nurturing, exemplary, and a structured education system. This approach has proven to be effective in responding to the challenges of urban society and has contributed significantly to the formation of a generation of Muslims who are faithful, knowledgeable, and noble.
Abdullah Sattar, Najmy Hanifah Copyright (c) 2025 Abdullah Sattar, Najmy Hanifah https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0 https://ejournal.uiidalwa.ac.id/index.php/wasilatuna/article/view/2583 Tue, 20 May 2025 00:00:00 +0000 Implementation of the Principle of Qaulan Karīmah in the Development of Adolescent Morals at the Al-Jam'iyatul Washliyah Orphanage: A Study of Islamic Communication https://ejournal.uiidalwa.ac.id/index.php/wasilatuna/article/view/2619
This study aims to explore how the principle of Qaulan Karimah is implemented in shaping the character of adolescents at the Al-Jam'iyatul Washliyah Orphanage in Pulo Brayan, Medan. Qaulan Karimah is an Islamic communication principle that emphasizes noble and kind speech, serving as a fundamental guideline in developing the personality and morals of the adolescents within the orphanage environment. The method used is a descriptive qualitative approach, with data collected through in-depth interviews, direct observation, and documentation. The informants in this study consist of six individuals, including caregivers and teachers who are actively involved in guiding the adolescents. Data analysis was carried out through data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions inductively. The findings show that the implementation of the Qaulan Karimah principle has a positive impact on the moral development of adolescents, such as increased patience, the ability to speak politely, and the emergence of a more positive attitude toward others. This implementation is supported by regular religious activities such as Quranic recitations, congregational prayers, and Islamic character development programs. Although there are challenges, such as the diverse backgrounds of the adolescents and consistency in applying the principle, the approach has proven effective in moral development. The implication of this study is that the use of Islamic communication principles like Qaulan Karimah can serve as an effective strategy for character building among adolescents, especially in social institutions such as orphanages.

Keywords: Implementation, Qaulan Karimah, Adolescent Morals, Orphanage.
Manita Rahma Hasibuan, Muktaruddin Copyright (c) 2025 Manita Rahma Hasibuan, Muktaruddin https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0 https://ejournal.uiidalwa.ac.id/index.php/wasilatuna/article/view/2619 Fri, 16 May 2025 00:00:00 +0000 Family Communication Conflict Representation in Dua Hati Biru: A Semiotic Analysis Based on Roland Barthes https://ejournal.uiidalwa.ac.id/index.php/wasilatuna/article/view/2577
This study analyzes the representation of family communication conflict in the film Dua Hati Biru using Roland Barthes' semiotic approach. The film Dua Hati Biru was chosen as the object of research because it displays various realistic family conflict dynamics, especially between parents and children. This study uses a descriptive qualitative method with semiotic analysis techniques. Through Roland Barthes' semiotic analysis, this study identifies the meaning of denotation, connotation, and myth in various scenes that depict family conflict. The results of the study indicate that the conflict that occurs in this film can be categorized into solvable conflict and perpetual conflict. The findings of this study reveal that communication conflict in the family is not only influenced by differences of opinion, but also by cultural factors and social structures that are inherited between generations. This study also explains the Islamic perspective as a way to overcome family communication conflict, namely through deliberation and good communication. Thus, a deeper understanding of the representation of communication conflict in the media, such as films, can provide insight for the community in resolving family conflicts more effectively.
Yughni Faidah, Faridah Copyright (c) 2025 Yughni Faidah, Faridah https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0 https://ejournal.uiidalwa.ac.id/index.php/wasilatuna/article/view/2577 Wed, 14 May 2025 00:00:00 +0000
