https://ejournal.uiidalwa.ac.id/index.php/muthmainnah/article/view/3498

Human behavioral deviations stem from cognitive dysfunction that requires improvement through approaches such as Cognitive-Behavior Therapy (CBT) with an emphasis on self-efficacy. This phenomenological qualitative study aims to fill the research gap by investigating the application of the pesantren-based guidance and counseling (BK) model at the Moderate Islamic Boarding School At -Thohiriyah Banten, where the results show that the integration of CBT techniques (such as cognitive restructuring) with Islamic values (such as muhasabah and tazkiyatun nafs) is supported by the communal pesantren environment and the charismatic figure of the Kyai. but faces obstacles such as counselor competency gaps, stigma towards mental health issues, and hierarchical culture. Therefore, it is concluded that the effectiveness of this model depends on strategic efforts such as counselor training and adaptation of techniques that respect the local wisdom of Islamic boarding schools.
Asep RahmatullahAkhmad Fauzi Hamzah

https://ejournal.uiidalwa.ac.id/index.php/muthmainnah/article/view/3506

This study was motivated by the phenomenon of academic anxiety experienced by many students, including those in Islamic universities, which has an impact on their performance, motivation, and psychological well-being. Among Muslim students, this anxiety is often complicated by an internal conflict between academic demands and the belief in tawakkal (trust in God). This qualitative case study aims to examine in depth the application and effectiveness of the Islamic Counseling Approach in overcoming academic anxiety at the Darul Lughah International Islamic University of Pasuruan (UII Dalwa). The results show that the concept of counseling at UII Dalwa is built on the integration of modern psychological principles with Islamic spiritual values, such as tawakal, gratitude, patience, and zikir, which are based on QS Ar-Ra’d: 28 and Religious Coping theory. Its implementation is realized through individual counseling that combines Active Listening with the Qalbī approach, Halaqah Zikir and Muhasabah, as well as Islamic-based stress management training that transforms worldly techniques into worship (sacralization of the mundane). The research findings conclude that this integrative model is not only effective in reducing symptoms of academic anxiety, but also capable of transforming the meaning of difficulties into part of worship, thus representing a constructive dialogue between psychology and religion that offers a holistic and contextual alternative paradigm for Muslim communities.
Akhmad Sahrandi

https://ejournal.uiidalwa.ac.id/index.php/muthmainnah/article/view/3507

This study examines the implementation of Islamic Counseling Guidance (Bimbingan Konseling Islam/BKI) in fostering the spiritual quotient (SQ) of students at Madrasah Aliyah Darullughah Wadda’wah Pasuruan. Motivated by the imbalance in modern education, which tends to be materialistic and neglects the esoteric aspect, this research employs a qualitative approach with a case study design to explore the role of BKI as an intervention strategy. Data were collected through interviews, observations, and documentation, and then analyzed using the interactive model of Miles and Huberman. The findings reveal that the implementation of BKI was carried out in a holistic and systematic manner through the stages of planning, implementation (via techniques such as Qur'anic Cognitive Restructuring, halaqah [study circles], and spiritual retreats), monitoring (using a Spiritual Diary), and evaluation. As a result, this approach successfully created a supportive spiritual ecology that fostered the internalization of spiritual values such as tawakkal (reliance on God) and sabar (patience), and built religious-based mental resilience (religious coping) in students. This study concludes that BKI is effective not only in resolving behavioral issues but also in shaping self-meaning, transcendental awareness, and inner balance, thereby establishing spiritual intelligence as a foundation for students' academic and social success.
Saparwadi SaparwadiMohamad Syafiq

https://ejournal.uiidalwa.ac.id/index.php/muthmainnah/article/view/3508

This study examines strategies for building resilience among Muslim youth in the digital age through the Islamic Guidance and Counseling (BKI) approach. Using a literature review method, the study identifies that resilience is formed through the synergy of internal aspects (such as emotional regulation, husnuzhan, patience, gratitude, and tawakal) and external aspects (family support, pious peers, and positive communities). ICG interventions play a vital role in facilitating the strengthening of self-capacity (I Am), social support (I Have), and problem-solving skills (I Can) based on Islamic spiritual values. As a result, this holistic approach is effective in building adolescents' mental-spiritual resilience, preventing maladaptive behaviors, and guiding them toward psychological well-being (sa'adah fid-darain) amid the challenges of the digital world.
Oktio Frenki BiantoroAlfan Arifuddin

https://ejournal.uiidalwa.ac.id/index.php/muthmainnah/article/view/3509

This study aims to explore the strategies used by ustadz (Islamic teachers) to develop students' self-esteem at Pesantren Al-Ma’ruf Kediri, a character-based educational context that remains under-researched. This research employs a qualitative method with a case study approach. The findings reveal that the ustadz implement an integrative and holistic strategy, manifested through positive communication and specific affirmations, personalized responsibility assignments, and the creation of an inclusive learning environment. The foundation of this entire strategy is the building of emotional closeness and direct role modeling, which creates a "safe haven" or a psychologically secure environment for the students. The combination of this structured psycho-educational approach and a warm relational approach forms an educational ecosystem that facilitates a profound transformation in the students. The implementation of this strategy successfully shifted the students' paradigm from a fixed mindset to a growth mindset, increased resilience, active participation, and social skills, and transformed the role of the ustadz from authoritarian figures to facilitators. These findings highlight that the pesantren environment, by integrating relational-affective and spiritual approaches, functions as an effective "social laboratory" for building authentic self-esteem—which stands on the pillars of competence and a sense of worthiness in the students.
Moch.
