Publication Ethics and Malpractice Statement
ILHAD: Jurnal Ilmu dan Dakwah Multidisiplin is a peer-reviewed national journal, available in print and online, and published twice a year. This statement clarifies the ethical behavior of all parties involved in the act of publishing an article in this journal, including the author, the chief editor, the Editorial Board, Peer-Reviewers, and the publisher. This statement is based on COPE’s Best Practice Guidelines for Journal Editors.
Publishing Ethics Guidelines
Publishing articles in ILHAD: Jurnal Ilmu dan Dakwah Multidisiplin is an important building block in the development of a coherent and respected knowledge network. This is a direct reflection of the work quality of the authors and the institutions that support them. The articles reviewed support and contain scientific methods. Therefore, it is important to agree on the standards of ethical behavior expected for all parties involved in publishing: authors, journal editors, peer reviewers, publishers, and the public.
The Faculty of Da'wah, Universitas Islam Internasional Darullughah Wadda’wah as the publisher of ILHAD: Jurnal Ilmu dan Dakwah Multidisiplin is responsible for overseeing all stages of publishing and acknowledging other ethical responsibilities. The institution is committed to ensuring that advertisements and commercial revenue have no impact on editorial decisions. It is also committed to assisting communication with other journals and/or publishers if deemed necessary.
Publishing Decision
The Editors of ILHAD: Jurnal Ilmu dan Dakwah Multidisiplin are responsible for deciding which submitted articles will be published. The validation of the work and its significance for researchers and readers should always guide the decision. Editors can be guided by the journal editorial board policy and are bound by legal provisions regarding defamation, copyright infringement, and plagiarism. Editors may consult with other editors or the assessment team in making these decisions.
Fair Treatment
Editors always evaluate manuscripts based on their intellectual content, without distinction of race, gender, sexual orientation, religious beliefs, ethnic origin, nationality, or political philosophy of the authors.
Privacy
Editors and the editorial staff must not disclose any information about a submitted manuscript to anyone other than the author, expert editor, peer reviewers, and publisher.
Any text received for review must be treated as a confidential document. The document should not be shared or discussed with others unless authorized by the editor.
Disclosure and Conflicts of Interest
Unpublished materials disclosed in a submitted manuscript must not be used in an editor's own research without the express written consent of the author.
Contributions to Editorial Decisions
The review process by peer reviewers helps editors make editorial decisions and assists authors in improving their manuscripts through editorial communication.
Time Effectiveness
Reviewers who feel ineligible to assess a manuscript or unable to provide a timely review must notify the editor and withdraw from the review process.
Confidentiality
Manuscripts received for review must be treated as confidential documents. They must not be shared or discussed with others except as authorized by the editor.
Standards of Objectivity
The review process must be conducted objectively. Personal criticism of the author is not permitted. Reviewers should express their views clearly with well-supported arguments.
Recognition of Sources
Reviewers must identify relevant published works that are not cited by the author. Any claim that an observation, derivation, or argument has been previously reported must be accompanied by a proper citation.
Reviewers should also alert the editor if they notice similarities or overlaps between the reviewed manuscript and other published works.
Fair recognition of the work of others must always be given. Authors should properly cite influential publications that contributed to their research.
Conflicts of Interest
Unpublished materials disclosed in the submitted manuscript must not be used in the editor’s or reviewer’s own research without the author’s written consent.
Confidential information obtained through peer review must be kept confidential and not used for personal gain.
Reviewers must not evaluate manuscripts in which they have conflicts of interest due to connections with the author, institution, or funder of the research.
Authors must disclose any financial or other conflicts of interest that may influence the interpretation of their manuscript.
All financial support for the research project must be acknowledged in the manuscript.
Reporting Standards
Authors must provide an accurate and objective report of their research. The manuscript should include sufficient detail and references to allow others to replicate the study. Fraudulent or intentionally inaccurate statements are unethical and unacceptable.
Originality and Plagiarism
Authors must ensure that their work is entirely original. If they use the work and/or words of others, they must cite and reference them properly.
Double Publishing, Repetition, or Simultaneous Submission
Authors should not publish a manuscript that describes essentially the same research in more than one major journal. Submitting the same manuscript to multiple journals simultaneously is unethical and unacceptable.
Authorship
Authorship should be limited to those who have made a significant contribution to the concept, design, execution, or interpretation of the study.
All significant contributors should be listed as co-authors. If others contributed to specific aspects of the research project, they should be acknowledged or listed as contributors.
The corresponding author should ensure that all co-authors have seen and approved the final manuscript and agreed to its submission for publication.
Corrections and Retractions
If an author discovers a significant error or inaccuracy in their published work, they must promptly notify the editor or publisher and cooperate in retracting or correcting the manuscript.
