The study employs a library research method with a qualitative descriptive approach to review various relevant literature sources. The analysis reveals that Arabic language learning in Malaysia is more structured, with adequate technological support and the use of Arabic as the primary medium of instruction, yet it places less emphasis on speaking skills. In contrast, learning in Indonesia focuses more on productive abilities such as speaking and writing but is less evenly distributed in terms of technology and curriculum standards. This research identifies the main challenge for Malaysia as the lack of educators proficient in teaching productive skills, while Indonesia faces challenges related to infrastructure and curriculum standardization.
Amy Fitriani Siregar Muhammad Ja'far Shodiq Ananda Zalfa Firdaus Lalu Rahmat Sugiara Dina Ayu Wulandari Nurul Zhafirah Muslim Copyright (c) 2025 Amy Fitriani Siregar, Muhammad Ja'far Shodiq, Ananda Zalfa Firdaus, Lalu Rahmat Sugiara, Dina Ayu Wulandari, Nurul Zhafirah Muslim https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/4.0 2025-04-02 2025-04-02 8 1 1 16 10.38073/lughawiyyat.v8i1.2291 Analyzing Students’ Difficulties in Learning Nahwu and Effective Pedagogical Solutions: A Psycholinguistic Approach https://ejournal.uiidalwa.ac.id/index.php/Lughawiyyat/article/view/2525
The study of nahwu (Arabic grammar) is fundamental for learners of Arabic as a second or foreign language. However, many students struggle with understanding and applying nahwu rules due to cognitive overload, first-language interference, and psychological barriers such as grammar anxiety and lack of motivation. This study examines these challenges through a psycholinguistic perspective and explores effective pedagogical strategies to enhance nahwu acquisition.

Using a mixed-methods approach, integrating both quantitative and qualitative methods to analyze students' difficulties in learning nahwu and explore effective pedagogical solutions through a psycholinguistic perspective, data were collected from 60 students at Pondok Pesantren Darullughah Wadda’wah through diagnostic grammar tests, psycholinguistic surveys, semi-structured interviews, and classroom observations. The findings indicate that mnemonic storytelling and contextual learning significantly improve students' comprehension and retention of nahwu rules compared to traditional rote learning. Students exposed to these methods demonstrated higher engagement and reduced cognitive strain, leading to better application of grammatical structures.

This study contributes to Arabic language pedagogy by integrating cognitive and affective dimensions into nahwu instruction. It underscores the importance of reducing cognitive load, employing interactive learning techniques, and fostering emotional engagement to enhance nahwu mastery. This gap is not merely a matter of student capability but also a result of monotonous teaching materials and ineffective instructional methods. This study aims to develop Arabic rhetoric teaching materials focusing on Ilm al-Bayan and Ilm al-Badi' using a mind mapping approach. This approach seeks to enhance students' understanding and skills in comprehending complex rhetorical concepts in a more systematic and engaging manner. The research method employed is Research and Development (R&D) using the Borg & Gall model, which includes stages such as needs analysis, initial product design, expert validation, revisions, field testing, and product refinement. Data were collected through observations, semi-structured interviews, and document analysis involving 30 final-year students at Sekolah Tinggi Agama Islam Al-Yasini. The findings reveal that using mind mapping in teaching Arabic rhetoric significantly improves conceptual understanding, student engagement, and instructional appeal. Evaluations by material experts, instructional tool experts, and graphic design experts resulted in scores of 98.7% (Excellent), 90% (Excellent), and 88.7% (Very Good), respectively. These findings affirm that the developed teaching materials are valid, effective, and capable of enhancing students' learning outcomes in understanding Arabic rhetoric. This study recommends adopting mind mapping as an innovative strategy in teaching Arabic rhetoric to achieve more effective and sustainable learning outcomes.
Menik Mahmudah Lailil Maghfiroh Nur Hanifansyah Sultan Abdus Syakur Copyright (c) 2025 Menik Mahmudah, Lailil Maghfiroh, Nur Hanifansyah, Sultan Abdus Syakur https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/4.0 2025-04-10 2025-04-10 8 1 32 55 10.38073/lughawiyyat.v8i1.2208 An Analysis of Majāzi and Haqīqi Meanings in Ilmu Dilālah: A Literature Study on Arabic Scholarly Texts https://ejournal.uiidalwa.ac.id/index.php/Lughawiyyat/article/view/2318
This article aims to examine the meaning of majāzi and hakīqi in the context of dilālah science, focusing on Arabic scholarly texts. Majāzi and hakīqi are two important terms in Arabic linguistics that refer to two types of word meanings. Majāzi is often interpreted as a figurative meaning, while hakīqi refers to the literal meaning. A deep understanding of these two concepts is essential in the analysis of scholarly texts, especially in understanding the nuances of the Arabic language which is rich in symbolism and metaphor. In this study, the author analyzes various Arabic scholarly texts that discuss majāzi and hakīqi. Through a qualitative approach, the study explores how these two meanings are used in different contexts and how they contribute to the understanding of the text. The data used in this study includes text analysis, interviews with Arabic linguists, as well as a survey of related literature. The results show that the use of majāzi and hakīqi is not only limited to linguistic aspects, but also includes cultural and philosophical dimensions. For example, in many texts, majāzi is used to convey complex ideas that cannot be explained by hakīqi meanings. Through this research, it is hoped to contribute to the development of dilālah science and enrich the understanding of the diversity of meanings in Arabic. As such, this article is not only relevant for academics, but also for practitioners working with Arabic texts in a broader context.
asep saepudin Moh Muizzudin Nurhamim Nurhamim Copyright (c) 2025 asep saepudin, Moh Muizzudin, Nurhamim Nurhamim https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/4.0 2025-04-15 2025-04-15 8 1 56 80 10.38073/lughawiyyat.v8i1.2318 Accelerating Kitab Reading Skills Through Dzauq and Strategic Vocabulary Acquisition https://ejournal.uiidalwa.ac.id/index.php/Lughawiyyat/article/view/2133
This study explores effective strategies for accelerating Kitab Kuning reading skills while fostering dzauq, an intuitive appreciation of the linguistic and spiritual beauty of classical Arabic texts. The research emphasizes the importance of vocabulary acquisition, psychological support, and innovative pedagogical approaches in overcoming challenges faced by students, such as limited vocabulary, language interference, and low confidence. Using a qualitative approach, data were collected through observations, semi-structured interviews, and document analysis involving 30 pesantren students aged 15–18 years. The findings demonstrate that structured vocabulary building, thematic nahwu and sharaf instruction, and the introduction of rhythmic recitations effectively enhance reading skills and student engagement. Moreover, cultivating dzauq helps students develop a deeper connection to the text, enabling them to overcome psychological barriers and approach Kitab Kuning as an enriching challenge rather than an overwhelming task. The research concludes that a holistic approach integrating technical mastery, emotional engagement, and vocabulary reinforcement can significantly improve Kitab Kuning learning outcomes while laying the foundation for future pedagogical innovations.
Muhamad Solehudin Copyright (c) 2025 Muhamad Solehudin https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/4.0 2025-04-17 2025-04-17 8 1 81 102 10.38073/lughawiyyat.v8i1.2133 Madkhol Al-Ittishōl ‘Ala Asāsi Nadzoriyah Ta’līmu Gagne fī Al-Muhādatsah bi Al-Madrasah Al-Qōdirī Al-Mutawassithoh Al-Islāmiyyah Al-Ūlā https://ejournal.uiidalwa.ac.id/index.php/Lughawiyyat/article/view/2201
The purpose of this study is a communicative approach that emphasizes students' communicative abilities, both in formal and informal settings. Greimas. The story of Maryam, as found in Surah Ali-'Imran (3:35-37, 42-44), Surah At-Tahrim (66:12), Surah Al-Anbiya (21:91), and Surah Maryam (19:16-34), contains profound moral, spiritual, and theological messages. This research employs a qualitative-descriptive approach with a literature review method. Greimas' actantial model is applied to identify actantial functions such as sender, receiver, subject, object, helper, and opponent within the narrative structure. The analysis results indicate that the story of Maryam reflects the spiritual struggle and steadfast faith of a woman chosen by Allah to undertake a significant role in the divine plan. The narrative structure of this story embodies values of submission to Allah, sincerity, and deep faith. By applying Greimas' theory, the meaning within Maryam's story can be analyzed systematically and comprehensively, offering a new perspective in understanding the spiritual narratives of the Qur'an.
